Its funny..Scott walker keeps saying no. But this time we decriminalized at least lol. If we get caught with anything under a ounce its a 1-10$ dollar fine (Passed Thursday)...were getting there. slowly but surely.

But soon as scott walker said no on full legalization were just going to keep shoving a bill in his face. It doesnt take us long to gather signatures...But the more the better. the faster, the more annoyed hes going to be. And were slowly pushing him out of office. his ratings drop every time.

Hope im not the only one from Wisconsin here lol.

Justices: Police can't extend traffic stop awaiting drug dog

http://news.yahoo.com/justices-police-cant-extend-traffic-stop-awaiting-drug-142805661.html

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court said Tuesday that police may not extend an ordinary traffic stop to seek evidence of crimes unrelated to the offense that prompted officers to pull a vehicle over.

The justices voted 6-3 in favor of a driver who was found to have methamphetamine in his car. Dennys Rodriguez was issued a warning for driving on the shoulder of a Nebraska highway and then made to wait less than 10 minutes for officers to walk a drug-sniffing dog around the car. The dog alerted and a search of the vehicle turned up the drugs.

But Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg said in her majority opinion that prolonging the traffic stop beyond the time needed to deal with the initial offense was improper, even if only for a few minutes.

Police may typically inspect a driver's license, ask for the registration and proof of insurance and check for outstanding warrants because they all are aimed at ensuring that vehicles are operated safely, Ginsburg said.

"A dog sniff, unlike those stock inquiries, lacks the same tie to roadway safety," she said.

Ginsburg also swatted away arguments that the total duration of the stop was reasonable.

The precise amount of time involved is unimportant, she said. "A traffic stop becomes unlawful if prolonged beyond the time in fact needed to complete all traffic-based inquiries," Ginsburg said.

Justices Samuel Alito, Anthony Kennedy and Clarence Thomas dissented.

Rodriguez won at the Supreme Court on Tuesday, but he may not be free of legal trouble. It is possible that the police had a reasonable basis, independent of the traffic stop, to suspect that Rodriguez was engaged in drug dealing, Ginsburg said. Lower courts now will consider that issue.

Alito called Tuesday's decision "unnecessary, impractical and arbitrary" because the officer did have reasonable suspicion that the car contained drugs.

The case is Rodriguez v. U.S., 13-9972. yay.gif

Michelle Leonhart to step down as DEA chief next month - CNN Reports

Adios bitch!

http://www.cnn.com/2015/04/21/politics/dea-leonhart-resigning-marijuana/

A 420 holiday treat for sure.

Washington (CNN)It didn't happen on 4/20 -- marijuana's high holy day -- but Michele Leonhart is stepping down in mid-May as administrator of the Drug Enforcement Administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said Tuesday.

"I want to express my appreciation to Michele, not only for her leadership of the DEA since 2007, but also for her 35 years of extraordinary service to the DEA, to the Department of Justice and to the American people," Holder said in a statement.

CNN reported earlier on Tuesday the resignation was expected.

Obama administration officials long ago soured on Leonhart, a career DEA agent who broke ground at the agency when she rose into leadership as the first woman to head a field office. In recent years, she has angered the administration for appearing to resist federal rules relaxing enforcement on marijuana as states have moved to legalize the drug for medicinal and recreational use.

More recently, she came under fire for her poor performance in a congressional hearing on an inspector general report that found instances of DEA agents having sex parties in Colombia with prostitutes paid for by drug cartels. The report cited light punishments for the agents and Leonhart seemed at a loss about what she could do about it.

The top lawmakers of the House Oversight Committee, which Leonhart appeared before, issued a joint statement welcoming the news of her departure.

"In light of the DOJ Inspector General's report and the testimony we heard before our committee, Ms. Leonhart's resignation is the appropriate consequence," said Republican chairman Jason Chaffetz and Democrat Elijah Cummings. "With the opportunity now for fresh leadership, we are hopeful that the DEA can restore itself to an agency of distinction and excellence."

On Monday -- 4/20 -- word spread around Washington that Leonhart had met with Justice Department officials to discuss her departure and how to handle succession at the top of the agency. Officials had hoped to have her departure announced before Loretta Lynch, the attorney general nominee awaiting Senate confirmation, took office.

Leonhart was tapped by President George W. Bush in November 2007 to lead the agency in an acting capacity, and was nominated by President Barack Obama to serve as administrator three years later.

Last Friday, Leonart sent an email to employees saying: "This has been a very difficult week for DEA, with members of Congress and the media asking tough questions and sharing our outrage about the disgraceful conduct of a few individuals several years ago. This employee misconduct has upset me for many reasons, but especially because it calls into question the incredible reputation DEA has built over more than 40 years."

She ended the email: "I want to thank you for your continued expressions of trust and confidence as we navigate through these rough waters. I know you will remain focused on our mission and the commitment to excellence that is the hallmark of who we are, and what we will always be at DEA."

Marco Rubio: We need to enforce federal marijuana laws in states where it’s been legalized

Just read this today. First Chris Christie (which was no surprise), now this dumbass. What's even worse is that he's currently the highest polling GOP candidate, but one source said that might only be because he just announced his candidacy a week ago and the poll was taken shortly after he announced. I also heard that he's Sheldon Adelson's favorite candidate so far and the one that he's most likely to financially support, which also doesn't surprise me since Rubio said he'd send the Feds after legal states. I really hope Jeb Bush ends up getting the nomination, at least he said that he'd leave it up to the states and he came in 2nd behind Rubio by only 2 points.

http://reason.com/blog/2015/04/20/marco-rubio-says-we-need-to-enforce-our

Marijuana Majority's Tom Angell notes that Chris Christie was not the only Republican candidate who recently indicated that he would try to shut down state-licensed cannabusinesses if elected president. On the same day that talk radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Christie whether he would enforce the federal ban on marijuana against people growing and selling the drug in compliance with state law, he put the same question to Marco Rubio. The Florida senator's response was more ambiguous (or maybe just more confused) than the New Jersey governor's, but it suggested that Rubio would enforce pot prohibition more aggressively than Barack Obama has:

Hewitt: A lot of people are criticizing the President for not enforcing the immigration laws. He's also not enforcing the drug laws in Colorado and Washington State. If you're the president, will you enforce the federal drug laws and shut down the marijuana trade?

Rubio: Yes. Yes, I think, well, I think we need to enforce our federal laws. Now do states have a right to do what they want? They don't agree with it, but they have their rights. But they don't have a right to write federal policy as well....I don't believe we should be in the business of legalizing additional intoxicants in this country for the primary reason that when you legalize something, what you're sending a message to young people is it can't be that bad, because if it was that bad, it wouldn't be legal.

In comparison with Christie, who said he would "crack down and not permit" state legalization of marijuana, Rubio seems to be a bit more concerned about the limits of federal authority, perhaps recognizing that most Republicans, including a substantial share of those who support prohibition, do not think the feds should impose that policy on states that reject it. He is correct that the states do not have the authority to rewrite federal policy, but that does not mean the Justice Department has to step in when states decide to treat marijuana merchants as legitimate businessmen instead of criminals.

For the most part, the DOJ in recent years has been using its broad enforcement discretion in a way that respects such policy choices. Contrary to Hewitt's gloss, that does not mean it is "not enforcing the drug laws in Colorado and Washington State." In addition to enforcing the rest of the Controlled Substances Act, U.S. attorneys are still pursuing marijuana cases in Colorado and Washington, just not in a way that shuts down the state-legal industry. Rubio apparently opposes that policy of prosecutorial forbearance. By contrast, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Jeb Bush, and Rick Perry all have said that states should be free to legalize marijuana without interference by the federal government.

Issues of state autonomy aside, Rubio's resort to the same "wrong message" argument that Christie favors suggests he has not given the subject much thought. First of all, it is simply not true that people assume legal substances must be safer than illegal ones. In fact, more than two-thirds of Americans agree with Obama that alcohol, a legal drug, is more dangerous than marijuana, an illegal one. And given the big shifts in attitudes toward tobacco and in smoking prevalence during the last few decades, it is absurd to claim that people do not understand that legal substances can be deadly.

Even if it were true that legal availability implies a drug "can't be that bad," Rubio assumes that using violence against peaceful adults is justified to avoid sending "the wrong message" to teenagers about something they are not supposed to be doing in any case. That proposition is highly debatable, to say the least.

Medical marijuana in Alabama is dead: Key senator says state not ready

Medical marijuana legislation won a small victory in an Alabama Senate panel on Wednesday, but long-time senator and chairman of the committee that sets the calendar for the floor says the bill is dead.

This means the full membership of the Senate won't even get a chance to debate it. Sen. Jabo Waggoner, Rules Committee chairman, thinks that Alabama isn't ready for legislation that would allow patients with some chronic medical issues to purchase medical marijuana. "It is bad legislation," he said. "We don't need that in Alabama."

Senator Waggoner, your closed mind tells us that you have outlived your pupose as a representative of the people of Alabama. Looks like the people have only 2 choices, vote him out of office and into an old folks home or wait until the mean old bastard dies! What a fool!!!!

Washington Patients: URGENT! Save Medical - Sign I-1372

Hello WA Patients,

After the dismal failure of the (pathetic) effort to stop SB-5052 someone made me aware of I-1372 which was actually filed in January and has had very little exposure on the boards.

If enough signatures are gathered between now and July if will land on the November ballot for a popular vote.

This is currently our only hope of preserving availability of affordable meds to the majority of patients in Washington.

It will also protect the privacy of patients. SB-5052 claims an "optional" state registry. The reality is that if you want to grow 5 or more plants or be allowed to possess a reasonable quantity of meds you WILL BE REQUIRED TO REGISTER. Also, if you want to participate in the lame version of a collective that it allows you WILL BE REQUIRED TO REGISTER.

For more info see:
http://www.cppwa.org/

Full text of the initiative:

http://sos.wa.gov/_assets/elections/initiatives/FinalText_715.pdf

If you would like a copy of the initiative to gather signatures there is a link to the PDF on the CPPWA website. If you are unable to print it (it MUST be 11x17 double sided) please contact me and I will find a way to get you a copy.

Dispensary Owners: If you don't already have a copy of this for your patients to sign please let me know and I will get you a copy. Or as an alternative I can send you some McDonalds job applications for you and your staff as if we fail again you will all be looking for new jobs next year.

Irish government is considering the decriminalisation of cannabis

A glimmer of hope, not legalisation (I don't think the country would be ready for that) but decriminalization is a good start.

That will be one of the few smart things the government has done in the past ten years. Half of Ireland are going around smoking dodgy weed that's unsafe and sprayed with bullshit because of the harsh law. Same as If drink was illegal, we'd all be drinking poitín (irish moonshine) out of condoms made in back gardens and dropping like flies.

WA trashs medical marijuana program in favor of a recreational-only program and more chaos

Well, another stupid move by politicians, meaning more unnecessary chaos!

Washington Governor Jay Inslee has signed Senate Bill 5052 into law, a proposal that will lead to the closure of every medical cannabis dispensary in the state, while implementing a patient registry and drastically reducing the amount of cannabis a patient can possess and cultivate.  This law requires all currently operating medical cannabis dispensaries to close by July 1st, 2016, putting an end to hundreds, if not thousands of jobs, and greatly decreasing safe access for patients. The proposal will also reduce the amount of cannabis a patient can possess by over 80%, from 24 ounces to 3, and will reduce the amount they can cultivate from 15 plants, to 6. And this is only if they enter a patient database admitting to committing a federal crime; if a patient refuses to join the database, they’ll only be able to possess an ounce, and cultivate 4 plants.

Many cities in the state have an outright bans on recreational cannabis outlets (but not on medical facilities), meaning many patients will now need to travel several cities over to purchase their medicine; either that, or rely on the black-market.
